Welcome to Day 4 of our Virtual My Parkgate Break!
2. How about starting the day with a bit of culture (courtesy of the husband of one of our lovely members)? Click on this link, scroll down a bit, read the article and then watch the first reading. Remember you can go back every day to this site to hear another day.
3. Watch and sing-along with this video – Starting with “Anytime” but if you just let the link load the next song it will keep playing songs (with lyrics right on the song) until you decide to stop.
4. Lunch – Conversation topic – “Did you play a musical instrument?” If so, what instrument and why did you choose it?”
5. After lunch would be a good time to get some exercise. If you would like to go outside and stretch your legs that is great. Here is our very own Gail Roxburgh if you would like to stretch with her:
6. It’s Laughter Time – Anyone like Groucho Marx? Here is a You Tube video with Best Groucho Marx Jokes, Puns & Ad Libs #1 (Note if you like this just let it run (skip the ad) and you will get more Groucho Marx Jokes, Puns & Ad Libs #2 and then yet more Grouch Marx and Phyllis Diller on You Bet Your Life:
7. We started our day with culture so it just seems right to end it that way. Also we love our time with kids. Lyonya Shilovsky, a toddler from Novosibirsk, amazes audiences with his drumming skills! He performs in an orchestra alongside adult musicians. Although he plays without sheet music, he continues to astonish audiences with his talent! (Note: if you want to watch more child prodigies just let the You Tube scroll to the next video and you will see a 7 year old guitarist and a 6 year old pianist play Mozart).
I hope you had a great day. I miss you all.
Check back on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 for another great day (or return to this day if you are bored).
Pam Havens and the My Parkgate Break Team.
