Y-Mind Teen
We are pleased to announce that this Fall, Parkgate, in partnership with the YMCA, will be hosting a 7-week mindfulness program, Y-Mind Teen.
Y-Minds is a group program for youth 13–18 years old that focuses on learning how to manage stress and anxiety through mindfulness and acceptance commitment therapy strategies.
This program is ideal for youth dealing with mild to moderate anxiety (nervousness, stress, restlessness, and general unease) but are still able to function.
We will be hosting a mandatory intake session for folks to learn a little more about the program before joining and to find out if the program will be a good fit for them.
Our Youth Outreach Workers have been trained by the YMCA to deliver this amazing program to equip youth with the tools to acknowledge stress and anxiety and the tools to handle those feelings.
Y-Mind Teen will run from Wednesday, October 21st, to Wednesday, December 9th, with a one-week break on Wednesday, November 11th.
Registration is required, as it is a closed program and not designed to be a drop-in. The cost of this program is FREE, and there is a meal included at each session!
Please send along any youth who may be interested or who you think may be a great fit, and we will schedule an intake session with them.
