Dear Parents:
As the first week of spring break and child care closures comes to an end, I take a moment to reflect on the rapidly changing information we receive daily and the changes and impact it has for our lives.
As I am writing this email, I sincerely hope that all our Parkgate families are safe, healthy and able to adjust their lives through these changes.
As the COVID-19 situation escalates and emergency measures are put in place by local, provincial and federal authorities, Parkgate Society has determined that our Child Care Infant/Toddler Program, 3-5 Program, Parkgate School Age Care, Seymour School Age Care and My First Preschool will remain closed until further notice. This measure is in line with recommendations of public health authorities and the desire to keep Parkgate Society’s staff and your families healthy.
We do this with a heavy heart as our main focus is to support families to ‘live life better’. These are trying times for all. No one can predict how long this situation will last, but we have to believe in the power of each one of us to do what is right for the community to help ‘flatten the curve’ of the virus – social distancing (and handwashing) is top of the list.
No further child care fees will be deducted from your accounts until further notice.
All children who are currently enrolled in our child care programs, will be assured of a spot when we re-open. At this point, we cannot provide you with a date of when we expect to re-open our Child Care Centre. However, we are staying informed of the changing situation and hope to give you more directives soon.
