Join Us for an Evening of Community
We are excited to welcome you to Parkgate Society’s 39th Annual General Meeting (AGM). This special evening is an opportunity to come together, reflect on the past year, and look ahead to what’s next for our community.
The evening will begin with a presentation on belonging, shared by several of our community members alongside Gary Johnston, an Indigenous educator and awareness facilitator. Gary holds a Master of Arts in Leadership from Royal Roads University and a Bachelor of Arts from Capilano University. He is the Vice Chair of the Sen̓áḵw Cultural Advisory Panel and has served on the Board of Directors of First Peoples Cultural Foundation and as Vice Chair of First Peoples Cultural Council. Gary is also the Knowledge Keeper for The College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).
AGM Business
As part of the AGM, members in good standing will have the opportunity to participate in the official business of the society. This includes reviewing reports, approving financial statements, appointing external accountants, and electing new directors to the board. Your voice and vote help guide the direction of Parkgate Society.
Celebrating Our Community
Beyond the business, the AGM is also a celebration of the people who make Parkgate Society thrive. We will recognize outstanding volunteers, local partners, board members, and staff who have reached important milestones. We will also honour the recipients of this year’s student scholarships, highlighting the incredible contributions of young people in our community.
